Mr. Ronald Springman
Senior Teaching Professor, Department of Criminal Justice
While Mr. Springman has taught many courses in the Criminal Justice undergraduate program, his primary focus is teaching the law courses that include Criminal Law, Basic Constitutional Law and American Justice, and Legal Aspects of Corrections. He also teaches the Practicum/Ethics course and supervises student field placements. In addition, he regularly teaches Introduction to Criminal Justice and Current Issues in Criminal Justice. In the Criminal Justice graduate program, he teaches Law and Justice and Human Resources for the Criminal Justice Administrator.
Mr. Springman graduated from Elder High School in 1981, Xavier University in 1985 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Peace Studies Option, University of Cincinnati, College of Law in 1988 with a Juris Doctor degree, and University of Cincinnati in 1998 with a Master's degree in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Springman was Chief Assistant Prosecutor for the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office for over 20-years. He was in charge of the Appellate Division. In that role, he supervised a staff of nine attorneys and three paralegals. Mr. Springman researched and wrote many legal briefs and appeared often in front of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court. In addition, he regularly appears before the Ohio legislature to give proponent testimony that supports new criminal law legislation.
