Residency Experiences

What are the residency experiences?

Three times in the program you will engage in short, in-person meetings with your cohort. Think of these as mini-conferences, including breakouts on important topics to modern water utility manages as well as workshops and seminars for deep, classroom type learning.

The Orientation Residency

This experience kicks off the program on Xavier’s campus! Check out this sample schedule:

Friday:

  • Fly in, check in.
  • Enjoy a dinner with an impactful keynote speaker
  • Networking happy hour with the Xavier faculty and staff who will work with you in the program.

Saturday:

  • Morning: breakfast, then the Managerial Challenge! Your cohort will work together to solve real business issues facing the water utility, even before your training begins.
  • Lunch: On the road! Tour local cutting-edge water technologies and share experiences over food in the Old River Station pump facility at Greater Cincinnati Water Works.
  • Early Afternoon: Grab your MS in Water Utility Management swag and polo shirt, take a campus tour, and smile for the group photo!
  • Late afternoon: invited panel discussions featuring water manager experts. Topics TBD.
  • Evening: keynote speaker over dinner, concluding with a networking happy hour with regional water utility experts and panel participants.

Sunday:

  • Check out, fly home
