VA Work Study

Military affiliated students who are actively utilizing a VA Education Benefit are eligible to apply for a VA Work Study position. In this role, you may work up to 20 hours per week while enrolled in classes. Each position requires a range of responsibilities that will offer the opportunity to develop professional skills. We are currently accepting applications for the 2023-24 academic year for the following positions. The application will remain open through Friday, August 11, 2023.

Undergraduate Veteran Outreach Coordinator

  • Increase involvement among undergraduate student Veterans in the VMFC via proactive and regular communication; assess interests and plan events; serve as the primary point of contact for new Veteran students

Undergraduate Military Family Outreach Coordinator

  • Develop an outreach plan to engage military dependent student population; plan and help facilitate events focused on military dependents; provide regular communication to students about VMFC services and events

Benefit Processing Assistant

  • Assist School Certifying Official (SCO) in daily tasks associated with the VA Certification process, including detailed record keeping, pulling schedules, creating forms, etc.
  • Ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel, able to work independently, and have good attention to detail

Marketing Coordinator

  • Assist VMFC staff and collaborate with other student interns to develop marketing strategies that maximize our exposure to military affiliated students and the University as a whole; design and create fliers; maintain VMFC social media accounts
  • Ideal candidate will have an interest in design and marketing
