Emily Barbero Memorial Veterans Scholarship

Emily Barbero spent her childhood as an Army “brat” traveling the country. After graduating, with honors, from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in the Class of 2008, she settled in Arlington, VA. She also completed a Graduate Degree in Data Analytics and Data Engineering from George Mason University with additional professional studies at Georgetown University and American University.

Emily forged a distinguished career in government service, culminating as Branch Chief/ Deputy Chief Data Officer, Office of Intelligence & Analysis, U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, DC where she was a greatly admired leader. Always looking to the future, in 2022 Emily was selected for the Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.

Emily loved Xavier University as it was the foundation for her professional success and personal happiness. She also loved growing up in a Military Family and found ways to help Veteran causes throughout her life. This fund will allow Emily’s legacy to support her beloved Xavier University by helping the Military Families and Veterans whom she so admired.
