What will we do while we are on the trip?

While in Australia we will have lectures with Australian professional in sports medicine and sports management. In addition we will tour the Sydney Olympic park and spend 3 days at the Australian Institute of Sport.

What kind of class assignments will we have?

We will have pre-trip, trip, and post-trip assignments. During the trip you will be required to keep a journal, will complete other assignments, and participate in discussion sessions. After the trip is over, you will submit a final project related to your respective discipline.

  1. If you do not already have a passport, please apply for one as soon as possible.
  2. Contact either Lisa Jutte or Linda Schoenstedt regarding the application process.

Who is eligible to go on this Faculty Led-Study Abroad?

Students who are majoring in either athletic training or sports management who meet the pre-requisite GPAs for the course they desire to take.

Who will be selected to go?

The first 18 students who meet the GPA pre-requisites and submit their $500 non-refundable deposit will be accepted.

What is the course description for ATTR 320?

ATTR 320 International Sports Medicine (3 credits) - This course is designed to introduce athletic training majors to sports medicine from an international prospective. Students will be introduced to international sport culture and will learn how culture influences sports and sports medicine.

What is the course description for SPMG 340?

SPMG 340 International Sport (3 credits) - This course is designed to give a multifaceted view of the issues, challenges, and opportunities in international sport management as well as the major functional areas that govern international sport. This course will provide students with critical insights into the practice of business as it applies to international sport.
