Erika Jay, Ed.D.

Assistant Director for Commuter & Off-Campus Living 340 Gallagher Student Center

Erika, originally from San Diego, CA, now lives in Mt. Washington and serves as the Assistant Director for Commuter and Off-Campus Students at Xavier University. In her role, she focuses on fostering a strong sense of community for commuter students, providing resources for those living off-campus, and creating programs that support student success and retention.

Before joining Xavier, Erika worked extensively in higher education in roles such as academic advising and as a faculty member in organizational leadership. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University, where she developed a passion for engagement and retention strategies to enhance the experiences of underserved student populations.

At Xavier, Erika leads initiatives like the Commuter Lounge, monthly commuter-friendly events, and the Commuter Peer Mentor (CPM) program—all designed to help students feel connected and supported. She finds joy in creating welcoming spaces where students can build meaningful connections and thrive throughout their Xavier journey.
