Social Work - Curriculum

  • Total minimum hours required for the Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) degree is 120 credit hours. This includes meeting core curriculum requirements as well as those for the major.
  • Students must fulfill Xavier’s CORE Curriculum requirements. Most social work students complete their university core requirements during their first two years. Some core courses are specifically required for the social work major:
    • BIOL 102/103 Life: Human Biology Lecture/Lab or BIOL 106/107 Life: Biology of Aging
    • MATH 116 Elementary Statistics or MATH156 General Statistics
