Astronomical Observations

4biophysics.jpgThe physics building has a rooftop observatory (with warm room) that houses several telescopes, including a 12 inch Meade LX-200 with automated base and computer control capability. A diffraction grating, dedicated CCD camera, and Real-Time Spectroscopy software allows for spectroscopic studies and student research projects. The observatory is also used for an astronomy lab which meets during the school year, by the Physics Club for outreach events, and for interested physics majors
