Xavier climbs to 39th nationally for undergraduate teaching in latest US News Best Colleges rankings

CINCINNATI – Xavier University ranks as a top-40 university nationally for undergraduate teaching in the latest U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges report, which ranked Xavier among the country’s largest and most influential universities for a second consecutive year.
Released today, the list placed Xavier at No. 39 for the undergraduate teaching category for national universities, a 15-spot rise from the previous year. The University was one of only 10 institutions to rise as many spots in the category.
Other significant year-over-year leaps for Xavier include a 39-spot rise in the undergraduate nursing program category, placing 133rd overall, and a 24-spot climb in the category of best-value national universities to 149th overall.
Additionally, Xavier saw several of its specialties recognized for excellence. Four undergraduate business programs ranked within the top 40 nationally in their respective categories:
- Analytics: No. 21
- Entrepreneurship: No. 22
- Finance: No. 40
- Marketing: No. 32
Xavier debuted as a national university on last year’s Best Colleges list following decades of steady expansion. More than 60% of the university’s students now hail from out of state, with more than 10 regional recruiters located in areas like Boston, New York City, Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago, San Diego, and many more.
Xavier also features several elite academic programs, including pre-med programs that lead more than 85% of graduates to be accepted into medical school, compared to the national average of only 40%. The university’s nursing, business, and education programs also serve as some of the most popular programs selected by new students every year.
Regardless of the path Xavier students choose, the university prepares them for success upon graduation. Xavier’s Class of 2022 achieved a record-breaking 99% student success rate, which denotes the percentage of students who are employed, attending graduate school, or serving in a full-time service position within six months of graduating.
