Marcia Lensges, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Management & Entrepreneurship

Marcia (Marcie) Lensges, Ph.D., PMI-ACP is an associate professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship Department in the Williams College of Business. Her passion is helping students reach their personal and professional goals.  

Besides earning a Management Ph.D. focusing on Organizational Behavior from The University of Cincinnati, Marcie also has an MBA in Finance and MIS from the University of Georgia and a BA in Economics and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. She likes learning new things.  

Marcie worked for several years for companies like IBM and Procter & Gamble before earning her PhD. Most of her professional work was project-based. Some of her previous roles include Organization Change Consultant on SAP implementations, Finance Manager for Folger's product supply, and even a Y2K programmer.  

Here at Xavier, Marcie enjoys teaching courses in Project Management, Managerial Behavior, Leadership, and Business Strategy. In her Project Management classes, students work in teams on projects for local non-profits to practice the PM skills they are learning. She is a big believer in the power of experiential learning and uses real-world scenarios in every course she teaches.   

Marcie also researches interesting questions in areas like organizational justice, employee-supervisor relationships, and Agile project management and has published in the Journal of Management Inquiry, Personnel Review, and Career Development International, as well as other respected outlets.   

When she’s not at work, Marcie loves to invest in her personal relationships with family and friends. She also enjoys action movies and fancy dinners.
