Admission

To be considered for admission into the MS in Instructional Design program, you must submit the following materials:

  • Completed application.
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended, sent directly from the institution; electronic transcripts are preferred.
  • A personal statement regarding the motivation and goals that have prompted your application to the Instructional Design program.

You are considered for admission into the program once all application materials have been received.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 2.8 undergraduate GPA
Curriculum
The Instructional Design program curriculum consists of 24 hours of core instructional design and development courses and electives, plus a (6) hour concentration area for a total of 30 semester hours.

If students would prefer not to take a concentration they can complete a generalized option by choosing one course from each concentration area to fulfill their 30 semester hour degree requirement.

Instructional Design and Development (MS) Program at Xavier University

The masters program combines instructional design and development theories and principles with digital learning strategy to create effective, engaging instructional and training experiences. Students will gain the knowledge and competencies needed to strategically plan, design, and implement innovative instructional solutions to support training and development initiatives in a variety of professional environments. Students will complete all courses online in an 8-week accelerated format.
