Census Dates and IR Project Calendar

Census Dates

The Office of Institutional Research maintains official snapshots of enrollment and employment data on designated census dates throughout the academic year. These snapshots serve as the official source for institutional reporting and are used in publications and submissions, such as the Census Stat Book, University Factbook, the US Department of Education reports, the Higher Learning Commission reporting, College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) surveys, American Association of University Professors (AAUP) surveys, and other external and internal reporting requirements.

Date Definitions

  • Fall and Spring Term Census Day: The official census date for the Fall and Spring terms is the second Thursday following the final drop/add date for full-term courses.
  • Summer Term Census Day: The official census date for the Summer term is the second Thursday in August.
  • End-of-Term Snapshot: The end-of-term snapshot is taken five weeks after the official end date of the term.

2027 Census Dates

  • January 15, 2027: End of Term and December Degrees Conferred Data Capture for Fall 2026
  • January 28, 2027: Census Day for Spring 2027
  • June 11, 2027: Capture of Degrees Conferred and End of Term Data Capture for Spring 2027
  • August 13, 2027: Census Day for Summer 2027
  • September 9, 2027: Census Day for Fall 2027
  • September 10, 2027: Capture of Degrees Conferred and End of Term Data Capture for Summer 2027
  • November 1, 2027:  Capture of employee data.

2026 Census Dates

  • January 16, 2026: End of Term and December Degrees Conferred Data Capture for Fall 2026
  • January 29, 2026: Census Day for Spring 2027
  • June 11, 2027: Capture of Degrees Conferred and End of Term Data Capture for Spring 2027
  • August 12, 2027: Census Day for Summer 2027
  • September 3, 2026: Census Day for Fall 2026
  • September 11, 2026: Capture of Degrees Conferred and End of Term Data Capture for Summer 2026
