Ernest Fontana

Professor Emeritus, English Department

Ernest Fontana retired as Professor Emeritus after forty-seven years on the English faculty, including nine years as department chair. His work, which is often reprinted, on Victorian, American, and Italian literatures has appeared in over thirty scholarly journals such as Victorian Poetry, Philosophy and Literature, The Emily Dickinson Journal, and The Journal of Pre-Raphaelite Studies. His article on Patmore and Hopkins is forthcoming in The Hopkins Quarterterly. Professor Fontana plans to continue his research on Anglo-Italian literary and cultural relations.
