Michael Webb, Ph.D.

Professor Michael Webb (5/19/1952 - 2/1/2015) was a professor of economics at Xavier from 1997 to 2015 and served as the Dean of the Williams College of Business from 1997 to 2003. Before joining Xavier, he was a professor at the University of Kentucky from 1979 to 1997. During his academic career, Professor Webb published actively in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of International Economics, Journal of Development Economics and Oxford Economic Papers. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Illinois and undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. His wife Shelly was a faculty member in the Finance department at Xavier from 1992 until her retirement in 2019, and Michael was a loving father to his two children Brennan and Matthew.
