Dr. Rhonda Norman
Chair, Associate Professor, Department of Counseling
Dr. Rhonda L. Norman, Chair of the Department of Counseling, is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC-S). She earned her doctorate at the University of Cincinnati in Counselor Education and Supervision. Dr. Norman holds a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Master of Education in Human Resource Development. She has over twenty years of clinical counseling, consultation and supervision experience within employee assistance, career counseling, executive coaching, university counseling, addictions and family/adolescent services. Dr. Norman maintains a small private practice in the Greater Cincinnati area. She is also a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor (LICDC) with the supervision endorsement and completed the State of Ohio Gambling Treatment Supervision Fellowship Program. In addition, Dr. Norman is also an instructor for the curriculum, Facilitating Career Development that leads to a Career Development Practitioner Certification.
Dr. Norman's past experience includes Employee Assistance Consultant for the Health Alliance of Cincinnati, Employee Assistance Counselor with Trihealth EAP, a Staff Counselor with Xavier University’ s Health & Counseling Center, Addictions Counselor with Talbert House DUI program and an in-home Family Counselor with Light House Youth Services. Dr. Norman's research interests include, women's career development and behavior in organizations, leadership practices, supervision of professional counselors, racial identity attitudes, mentoring, addictions, including gambling disorders. Dr. Norman has conducted several presentations nationally, regionally and locally in the areas of women’s career development, cross-cultural supervision, mentoring and strengthening the supervision relationship.
