Dr. Norm Townsel
Clinical Coordinator, Teaching Professor, Department of Counseling
Dr. Townsel is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) and the Clinical Coordinator for Counselor Education at Xavier University. Dr. Townsel most recently served as the Associate Director of Counseling Services at Xavier University, helping to expand the opportunity for practicum and intern students to complete their training in the campus setting. He has previously served as Facility Director at a community mental health center in Kentucky, Clinical Director at a child welfare agency in Ohio, and Correctional Superintendent at juvenile correctional facilities in Ohio, Kentucky, Florida and Maryland. In 1997, Dr. Townsel was formally recognized by the 122nd Ohio General Assembly for his service to the State of Ohio. Dr. Townsel has developed numerous workshops and trainings over the course of his career and is a regular presenter for the Greater Cincinnati Training Consortium.
