Dr. Marissa Lodge
Assistant Professor of Instruction
Dr. Lodge is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Counseling at Xavier University and is a licensed school counselor in Illinois and is expected to receive her licensed professional and licensed professional clinical counselor licensure in Ohio this year. She has 7 years of experience as a school counselor and 2 years of experience as a clinical supervisor. She also has 2 years of teaching experience while completing her Ph.D. She completed her doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision at Northern Illinois University in 2026 with a quantitative dissertation focused on Veteran experiences in universities and received her master's is in school counseling and preventative mental health from Creighton University in Nebraska.
Dr. Lodge has a passion for teaching and supervision and seeks to build supportive and collaborative relationships with students, faculty and community affiliations. Dr. Lodge is passionate about using a trauma informed approach when seeking to build relationships with stakeholders to explore and implement interventions related to mental health support, assessment, and intervention for students and community affiliates.
Dr. Lodge is a Veteran of the United States Navy, has two dogs, and is new to Ohio. She is excited to integrate the values and mission of Xavier University into her teaching and research and is excited to join the esteemed counseling department and look forward to serving the student body at Xavier University!
