Communication

Student Organizations

Ready to put your skills to work outside of the classroom?

Xavier has 160+ clubs on campus to chose from. The Communication department supports some of these student organizations, taking the class work to a fun and engaging setting. Join one of the Communication student organizations to get a chance to meet more communication students, learn about the field, get experience and have a good time.

Advertising Club

The Advertising club, part of the nationally renowned American Advertising Federation (AAF), unites creativity and advertising within the Xavier Community.

This student-run organization focuses on making content for other clubs on campus but also local organizations and companies that might want their help. The idea was born from a group of students who want to represent feelings then transfer these emotions on paper, and convey what an organization can be. The club also participates in the AAF district and/or national competitions. If you are looking for a place to be creating and inspired, regardless of your major; if you want to get experience in the advertising field; if you just want to meet peers on campus - the Advertising Club is the place for you.

Lamda Pi Eta (LPE)

Lamda Pi Eta (LPE), sponsored by the National Communication Association, is the honor society for the communication studies discipline. Explore the National Lamda Pi Eta website.

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)

Students majoring in communication are encouraged to become active in campus clubs and organizations. The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a national, student-managed organization offering a campus program of speakers, skill-building activities and social events. Closely associated with the Cincinnati professional chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the student organization helps members develop strong communication skills.

Film and Television Club

Xavier's Film and Television Club is one of the most valued media outlets at Xavier University, and it is run solely by students. FTC engages in film events, competitions, podcasts, trainings and supports a weekly news broadcast, which includes a sports segment, entirely produced by students. The broadcast takes place in conjunction with the Digital Innovation, Film and Television program, in the Film and Television Studio. The FTC is a multidisciplinary club bringing students together to build community, collaborate on projects and share the love of Film and TV. Students receive hands on experience working in a digital film and television studio and the programing provides niche content in the greater Cincinnati area.
