Rachel Younce
Senior Minister for Service, Justice, and Immersion
Rachel grew up in Alabama and went to Spring Hill College, a Jesuit college in Mobile, AL. After college she spent six months in Hyderabad, India, volunteering at Sarah's Covenant Homes. Rachel participated in Magis Catholic Teacher Corps, with Creighton University earning a master's in School Counseling and Preventive Mental Health degree. In Magis, she was placed at Maȟpíya Lúta (formerly Red Cloud Indian School) teaching 3rd grade and then School Counselor for K-8. She later moved to North Carolina for counseling. In 2022 Rachel moved back to Alabama to be closer to family and watch her niece and nephews grow up. She worked at her alma mater, Spring Hill College as Campus Minister for Service, Justice, and Retreats, later taking the position of Director of Campus Ministry.
Rachel is excited to be in the Midwest and closer to her community friends - and she's excited to have real winters again and all four seasons! She enjoys hiking, visiting a good waterfall, and National Parks, and enjoys watching reality TV, comedy or horror movies. Rachel loves Jesuit education, Ignatian Spirituality and Immersions. She will be working with Alternative Breaks, Summer Service Internship, and faith and justice related programs and events. Rachel is thrilled to be in community with CFJ and get to know students and accompany them in their own faith journey through the eyes of service, immersion, and justice programs. She is excited to connect with community partners and our AB partners and connecting students with them as well, creating avenues to expand students' Jesuit value of being people for and with others.
