Honoring the UCA Martyrs

David Inczauskis, SJ, (Classics and Modern Languages) and Marcus Mescher (Theology) were part of a delegation of eight faculty and staff from Xavier University who traveled to El Salvador November 12-17 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the UCA martyrs (six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper and her daughter were killed at the Jesuit university in San Salvador). There they joined delegates from other AJCU institutions to speak with UCA students and staff, church leaders and human rights advocates, survivors of El Salvador's civil war, and visited the tombs of the martyrs and Archbishop Oscar Romero.
