Inaugurating CASCA

|

I'm thrilled to announce the members of the inaugural CAS Council of Advisors (CASCA). Four were selected through your voting, and three by appointment. All seven had accepted nominations and received votes.

I am tremendously pleased at the level of engagement in the entire process. Twenty-six faculty members were nominated, of which thirteen accepted their nominations. Nearly seventy-five percent of all faculty members voted.

I am also pleased that the CASCA membership reflects the diversity of the college in terms of race, gender, position, experience and expertise.

I have named the first members of CASCA to staggered terms, based on a combination of voting results and variety of academic discipline and position. Going forward, new members will always be named to three-year terms.

In alphabetical order (final term)
Heather Balyeat (Spring 2019)
Paul Colella (Spring 2019)
Liz Johnson (Spring 2020)
Niamh O'Leary (Spring 2021)
Kelly Phelps (Spring 2021)
Jen Robbins (Spring 2021)
Tom Strunk (Spring 2020)

Thanks to all of you for participating, and especially to all the faculty members who accepted nomination. I greatly appreciate your willingness to serve.

Finally, I wish you all a well-deserved Fall Break. May it provide you a chance to catch up and catch your breath after a busy start to this semester.
