EMPLOYER LOGISTICS

The five institutions that collaboratively present the Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky Education Career Fair look forward to your participation in this event on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM in the Cintas Center at Xavier University.  Traditionally this Fair attracts 400+ candidates from Mount St. Joseph University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, Wilmington College, Wright State University, and Xavier University, making this event a prime opportunity to share information about anticipated openings, gather resumes, and screen a number of qualified candidates from six colleges/universities in one day.  Logistics for the fair are listed below.

 

EMPLOYER E-TIPS

To help all registered employers make the most of the Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky Education Career Fair, the following two eTips are intended to aid in your preparations for this event.

CHECK IN

Please check in between 8:30 and 9:30 AM at the Employer Check-In Table located just inside the east entrance of the Cintas Center which is the main entrance to the Schiff Family Conference and Banquet Center.  Due to the popularity of this event, employers are encouraged to maximize the afternoon interviewing session by bringing additional recruiters to interview multiple candidates during each interview slot.  If you have not provided all the names of those representing your school at the event, or would like to add representatives in order to fully maximize the afternoon interviewing session, please send them to Heather Deters at detersh2@xavier.edu.  This will allow for a more convenient check-in for your organization.

If you need assistance with your display materials, there will be a student host available from 8:30 - 9:30 AM to assist you with moving these items to your booth.

BREAKFAST

A continental breakfast will be available for recruiters until 10:00 AM.

LUNCH

Lunch will be available for recruiters between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and may be enjoyed during the scheduled lunch break.  Two complimentary lunches are included with each registration. Additional lunches may be purchased in advance for $20 each by contacting Heather Deters at detersh2@xavier.edu.  Your employer name tag will serve as your lunch ticket for this event, so please be sure to wear it when getting lunch.

TABLE LOGISTICS

A sign with your organization's name will be posted at your assigned booth.  Your booth includes a 6' table with table cloth and chairs for recruiters and candidates to use for the interview session.  If you have ordered electricity access, we will have that prepared for you at your booth.  Wireless internet access is offered to all employers at no charge.  

NETWORKING SESSION:  9:30 - 11:30 AM

The networking session will allow recruiters the opportunity to speak with candidates about your openings and schedule afternoon interviews on your Employer Interview Schedule (provided in your packet upon arrival - one per recruiter. This process may move to online/electronic: more info to come).  The Employer Interview Schedule is set up for 20-minute interviews, however recruiters and candidates may agree upon interviews of varying lengths.
 

INTERVIEW SESSION:  12:30 - 5:00 PM

Interviews will take place at your booth.  Candidates will come to your booth at the time of their scheduled interview.  (There is no need to retrieve individuals from the Candidate Waiting Areas.)  Event staff members will clearly display "2 Minutes Remaining" signs to inform interviewers of the time remaining before the next scheduled interview.  Candidates have been instructed to wait patiently at your booth should an interview be finishing up.  If you find that you are running behind schedule, please take a moment to reschedule with the waiting candidate to prevent them from missing a later scheduled interview.

SHIPPING MATERIALS TO/FROM THE VENUE

You may ship your items to arrive no earlier than Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Please do not ship materials more than 5 days prior to the fair.  This will ensure safe storage of your pre-shipped items.  To ship items in advance, the shipping address is:

To ship your materials after the fair, there are UPS and FedEx drop-boxes just outside the east Cintas Center (Schiff Family Conference and Banquet Center) doors.  Pick up occurs at 7:45PM for FedEx Monday-Friday.  You will need an account number to pay for the shipment.  The conference center suggests printing and bringing with you pre-paid labels for your convenience.  If you need to use UPS, you must call UPS directly to arrange for a pick up.  They will need your account number and measurement of the boxes that you will be shipping.  The conference center is not responsible for shipping packages.

Organizations paying by check:  Please plan to send full payment of the career fair registration fee on or before March 19, 2024 to avoid a late payment penalty.  Please send checks to:

PAYMENT, CANCELLATION, & REFUNDS

Cancellations must be received by March 5, 2024 to receive a refund.  To cancel, please contact detersh2@xavier.edu.

INCLEMENT WEATHER, COVID-19 IMPACT

Should the unpredictable occur, the Education Career Fair consortium will assess the situation and make a decision by 8:00 AM on the day of the fair.  Registrants and representatives will be notified via email and an announcement will appear on the front page of the Xavier University Career Development website (www.xavier.edu/career) should something occur which would impact the virtual event.

PRE-EVENT NETWORKING RECEPTION

The SONK consortium is hosting a reception on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at the Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati Midtown Bar/Lounge. Appetizers will be provided while drinks will be available for purchase.  Come meet others who will be participating in the fair.  Consortium colleges/universities participants in attendance will include education faculty and Career Development Office staff.
