Dr. Julia Richmond
Assistant Professor, School of Psychology
Dr. Richmond is an assistant professor of psychology at Xavier University. She earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Cleveland State University, her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toledo, and finished her predoctoral internship at the Eastern Oklahoma VA. She completed postdoctoral research training in the Department of Psychology at Kent State University, where she conducted research on emotion processes (e.g., emotion regulation) following stressful events.

Research
Dr. Richmond’s research focuses on understanding the interplay between emotion regulation and interpersonal difficulties, as well as identifying risk factors in the intergenerational transmission and development of psychopathology, particularly borderline personality disorder. She conducts laboratory research utilizing multiple methods of data collection (e.g., psychophysiology, behavioral tasks).
