Dr. Travis Mulroy
Visiting Professor, Philosophy Department
Travis Mulroy received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College (Annapolis), his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Tulane University. The focus of his research is ancient Greek philosophy—Plato, in particular.
He has recently published two articles on Plato’s Republic. The first publication (“Lucid Dreaming: On the Phantom of Justice in Plato’s Republic”) appears in Ancient Philosophy, Vol. 43, Issue 2. The second publication (“Reading Skillfully: On the Letters of Justice in Plato’s Republic”) is forthcoming in Mnemosyne: A Journal of Classical Studies. These articles form the foundation of a more comprehensive interpretation of Plato’s Republic, which he is in the process of writing as a book manuscript.
