The Business of Biomedicine

Open to students from all majors, this track is designed for those who are interested in the healthcare industry but may not see themselves as doctors, nurses, or clinicians. Students develop a deeper understanding of how healthcare organizations operate while building connections with professionals working at the intersection of science, business, technology, and public service. 

As a Business of Biomedicine cohort member, you'll:

• Explore career paths in pharmaceutical sales, medical devices, healthcare administration, clinical trials, quality science, regulatory affairs, nonprofit healthcare, and related industries.
• Learn directly from professionals representing leading healthcare and life sciences organizations through guest speakers, panels, and networking events. 
• Participate in site visits and behind-the-scenes tours that provide firsthand exposure to healthcare industry operations. 
• Gain insight into emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, medical technology innovation, and the evolving life sciences landscape. 
• Develop professional skills through interview preparation, elevator pitch development, networking activities, and career coaching. 
• Build relationships with students from different majors and colleges while learning how cross-disciplinary teams tackle complex healthcare challenges. 
• Compete in experiential activities such as pitch competitions that strengthen problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. 
• Explore internship opportunities and learn how to strategically position yourself for careers in healthcare and life sciences organizations.
