Hello Muskie FAQ
College comes with a lot to keep track of. Hello Muskie is here to make finding answers, staying organized, and getting the most out of your xavier experience a little easier.
Getting Started
Hello Muskie is Xavier University's AI-powered student success app and your personal guide to Xaver.
It brings together the information you use every day, including your classes, schedule, assignments, degree progress, campus resources, events, career opportunities, and more. Instead of searching across different places, you can simply ask Hello Muskie what you need to know.
Think of it as a helpful upperclassman or alum (who isn't trying to sell you a pass to the rooftop pool).
Download Hello Muskie from the Apple App Store or Google Play, then sign in using your Xavier credentials.
No new username. No extra password to remember. A single sign-in gets you started.

Not sure where to start? Just ask.
Yes. Hello Muskie connects with Xavier systems to help you see your daily or weekly class schedule, upcoming Canvas assignments, due dates, course information, and more in one convenient place.
Try asking: " what does my schedule look like tomorrow?" or "What's due this week?"
Yes. Hello Muskie can help you view your Degree Works progress so you have clearer picture of where you stand academically.
For example you can ask: "How many credits do I have left?"
Hello Muskie can help find the information you need, but remember, your official academic records and advising resources remain the final source for degree requirements and academic planning.
Hello Muskie & Other Xavier Tools
Hello Muskie was built at Xavier, for Xavier, with the belief that technology should serve people-not the other way around.
That approach is rooted in Xavier's Catholic and Jesuit values and includes an ongoing commitment to understanding the impact of the technology behind Hello Muskie. Xavier plans to measure the tokens and carbon generated through the app's use, develop and fund a program to offset that footprint, involve Xavier students in running that effort, and continue evaluating where the technology can improve.
Responsible AI isn't treated as a one-time checkbox. It's part of the ongoing conversation around how Hello Muskie is built and used.
If it has to do with navigating life at Xavier, there's a good chance Hello Muskie can help.
You can ask questions like:
- "What's due this week?"
- "Where is my next class?"
- "What does my schedule look like Friday?"
- "How many credits do I have left?"
- "What's happening on campus tonight?"
- "Are there any clubs I might like?"
- "Where can I find an internship?"
- "What are the dining hours today?"
- "Where can I find off-campus housing?"
- "Who should I talk to about financial aid?"
You don't need special commands or perfect wording. Ask the way you'd ask another person.
Hello Muskie is designed to provide helpful answers using the Xavier information and resources available to it, including personalized information connected to your Xavier account.
Like any AI-powered tool, though, it can occasionally misunderstand a question or provide an incomplete or incorrect response. For anything especially important-such as academic requirements, deadlines, financial information, policies, or other official university matters-it's always a good idea to confirm the answer with the appropriate Xavier system, office, or staff member.
Hello Muskie is there to help you find your way faster, not replace the people and official resources here to support you.
Troubleshooting
First, make sure you're signed in with your Xavier credentials and that you have a reliable internet connection. Closing and reopening the app can also solve the occasional hiccup.
If information still seems to be missing or incorrect, check the original Xavier System where that information lives (e.g., Canvas or Degree Works) to see whether it appears there.
Still Stuck? Use the support option in Hello Muskie or contact the appropriate Xavier support resource so the issue can be investigated.
And yes, asking Hello Muskie "Where can I get help with Hello Muskie?" is completely fair game.
