University Library Gallery

As part of the Sustaining Excellence Library Space Initiative, the University Library Gallery has been established on the third floor of McDonald Library to celebrate and showcase the creative spirit of our student community. This dedicated exhibition space is designed to support and elevate student expression across a wide range of media and formats, including:

  • Individual and group art exhibits
  • Curated collections
  • Craftwork and handmade pieces
  • Faculty-led class projects
  • Digital and mixed media presentations
  • Zines and other print-based works

The gallery is equipped with professional-grade display infrastructure, including modular wall panels, track lighting, a gallery hanging system, floor-standing display grids, assorted frame sizes, pedestal stands with acrylic covers, and a large digital monitor for multimedia works. These features allow for flexible and dynamic installations that reflect the diversity and innovation of student creativity.

Management of the gallery is overseen by the Caressa Miles, Director of the Art Galleries, who coordinates calls for entries, proposal reviews, scheduling, insurance, and policy enforcement. Exhibits typically run for a minimum of four weeks and a maximum of six weeks, ensuring a rotating showcase of fresh and engaging content.

This space is open to all students—whether you're an art major building your portfolio, a hobbyist eager to share your craft, a collector with a story to tell, or a faculty member looking to highlight student work from your courses. We invite you to be part of this vibrant visual dialogue.

To propose an exhibit, please review the Gallery Student Policy Overview and submit a Gallery Proposal Form.

The University Library Gallery is open during library open hours.
