Welcome to the Division of Legal Affairs. Our division is dedicated to supporting the institution's mission by providing expert legal counsel, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with the broader community. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and equity across all operations.

To effectively serve the institution, the Division of Legal Affairs houses three specialized offices:

Office of General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel serves as the primary legal representative and strategic advisor for the institution. GC provides comprehensive legal counsel on a wide array of matters to protect the institution's interests and ensure operations align with all local, state, and federal laws.

Office of Compliance, Equity, and Ethics (CEE)

The CEE champions a safe, inclusive, and compliant environment for all members of our community. By promoting ethical conduct and proactive risk mitigation, this office serves as the central hub for overseeing the following critical areas:

• Civil Rights, Title IX, and ADA/Section 504
• Accessibility & Disability Resources (ADR)
• Risk Management
• Internal Audit
• Insurance

Government & Community Relations

The Government & Community Relations office acts as the vital bridge between the institution and the public sector. GCR actively engages with local, state, and federal officials, as well as civic leaders and neighborhood organizations. By advocating for the institution's strategic priorities, GCR aims to build mutually beneficial partnerships and drive positive impact within the communities Xavier serves.
