What is Canvas?

Canvas is a cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS) that has consistently been rated highly for its student-centered model and the overall student experience. Canvas is recognized by faculty for its ease of use and its high-quality mobile user interface. Canvas is the LMS that faculty and students use at Xavier.

How do I get started?

To get started with Canvas, simply sign in here: canvas.xavier.edu (use your standard Xavier username and password)

For Canvas training, please refer to the "Canvas Basics for Faculty" course under your Courses menu in Canvas. Canvas Basics is a self-guided training course that will teach you everything you need to know to get started using Canvas and to begin building your course.

How do I get help with Canvas?

For Canvas support, feel free to take advantage of the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week phone and live chat support that all students and faculty members have with Canvas. You can reach a Canvas support specialist anytime at 855-778-9967, or live chat with them by clicking here.
