In accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, please be advised of Xavier’s policies and sanctions related to copyright infringement, including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing, illegal downloading, and unauthorized distribution of copyrighted materials using the University’s information technology system. Please review the Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy, the Illegal Sharing and Downloading Policy, and Copyright Resources for Students for more information. Students who engage in copyright infringement will be held accountable via the student conduct process as outlined in the Student Handbook. In addition, be advised of penalties for copyright infringement.
