Cura Cohort
Cura Cohort is rooted in the Jesuit principle of cura personalis, or “care for the whole person.”While graduate education focuses on academic and professional growth, meaningful personal connections are equally important to student success. Cura Cohort creates opportunities for graduate students to build friendships, expand their networks, and find support within a community that values each person beyond their research, coursework, or career goals.
By joining Cura Cohort, you will connect with fellow graduate students across disciplines, share experiences, and develop relationships that enrich your graduate journey. Whether you are looking for friendship, mentorship, professional connections, or simply a greater sense of belonging, Cura Cohort offers a welcoming space where you can grow both personally and professionally.
We're going to focus on pairing you with someone within two separate categories:
1. Academic/ professional networking: This is likely going to be someone in your own program or a related program. You could focus on study times, hop on a Teams call together, discuss research or networking, or give/receive advice on the program path.
2. Social connection: This could be someone in your own program, but could be from any graduate program. These connections could include making new friends based on a similar hobby, a online connection with someone in your state or region, or just a friend to grab some coffee with.
Pairs who are matched will receive $50 a year to meet with each other, either virtually or in person, to offset the cost of an activity together. We'd love to see pictures of you DoorDashing dinner and eating on Teams, hitting up the pickleball courts, or attending a study session together at a local coffee shop.
