Faculty development programs are sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs for the purposes of enhancing the quality of teaching and scholarly activity at Xavier and promoting the sense of community among Xavier faculty members.

|Faculty Development Leaves||November 1||1 semester leave at full pay or 1 year at half-pay||Principal faculty member who will have completed at least 3 years full time at Xavier; at least 8 semesters of teaching since last leave (FMLA leave counts as teaching time)|
|Faculty Summer Fellowships||November 1||$4000 for summer work||Principal faculty member. Preference to pre-tenure faculty. Cannot apply for both summer fellowship and faculty development leave at same time.|
|Wheeler Grants||March 20||Resources for curriculum development||Principal faculty, participating faculty, or librarians.|
External Fellowships will have their own deadlines. Faculty applying for them should be aware of the Faculty Fellowship Top-Up Stipend policy that may make the opportunity more financially viable.
