The President's Diversity and Inclusion Action and Advisory Council (PDIAAC) will work in partnership with faculty, administrators, students, staff and the external community to encourage, achieve and sustain diversity and equity. To that end, we will model meaningful exchange and full community participation among people of all backgrounds and circumstances thereby establishing diversity as a core value at Xavier University.
This broadly representational Council will ensure the University's diversity and inclusion work is owned and enacted across the University. The Council will design, coordinate the implementation of, and assess the University's diversity and inclusion strategy.
The Diversity and Inclusion Action and Advisory Council is charged by the President with facilitating and advocating for the institutional support of the Strategic Plan for Diversity and Inclusion, in conjunction with the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. It will issue a summary and evaluation of institutional progress under the Plan, along with recommendations for improvement, in an annual report to the President.
The Council will also serve as a sounding board for the campus community on matters related to the climate for diversity. In that capacity, it will regularly solicit information regarding the campus climate from various campus constituencies and the campus as a whole and issue findings and recommendations for improvement in its annual report to the President.
