Fall 2025
Constitution Day Address, September 17, 2025, 7:30 pm

"Free Speech on Campus: The First Amendment isn't Enough." Jonathan Marks, Professor, Ursinus College

Constitution Day Colloquium, September 17, 2025, 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
A half-day program for students and faculty to engage important Constitutional questions. Dinner provided.
Students who are interested in participating in the half-day colloquium as Constitution Scholars should contact Dr. Mack Mariani at marianim@xavier.edu.

AFAC Minor Dinner, October 29, 2025
Students minoring in AFAC and students interested in learning more about the minor are invited to attend dinner with AFAC faculty on Wednesday October 29 at 6:00 pm.
Spring 2026
Reading Group on "The Memory of '76" - Spring 2026
Students joined Dr. Karim Tiro for a reading group to discuss Michael Hattem's book, The Memory of '76, which examines how America commemorated previous anniversaries of the Declaration of Independence.

Reading Group on "The Second Founding" - Spring 2026
Students joined Dr. Ed Kosack for a reading group to discuss Eric Foner's book, "The Second Founding", which examines how the Constitution was redefined by the Civil War and Reconstruction amendments.

George Washington Day Dinner, February 2026
Students, faculty, staff and members of the public came together at the 2026 George Washington Day Symposium. The event, which was sponsored by the Alexander Hamilton Society, featured a talk on US foreign policy by Rachel Hoff, Policy Director at the Ronald Reagan Institute.

America 250: Legacy, Learning and Local Impact, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 1:30pm - 6:00 pm
Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to participate in panel conversations on local efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The event is co-sponsored by the Hamilton County America 250 Committee. For more information, contact marianim@xavier.edu.
