Ignatian Belonging Committee

The College of Health and Human Sciences Ignatian Belonging Committee supports the University's Jesuit mission by fostering a culture of authentic belonging for all members of our college community. Guided by our Jesuit values such as cura personals, magis, and service rooted in justice and love, the committee works to strengthen relationships, cultivate meaningful engagement, and ensure that every student, faculty member, and staff member is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Statement on Ignatian Belonging

The College of Health and Human Sciences is committed to cultivating a community where every person experiences a genuine sense of belonging and purpose. Rooted in the Jesuit value of cura personalis—care for the whole person—we embrace the richness of human experiences, perspectives, and gifts that strengthen our learning environment and prepare us to serve an ever-changing world.

As a college dedicated to magis-in-service, we strive to create collaborative spaces where respectful dialogue, intellectual curiosity, and compassionate engagement flourish. Through meaningful relationships and shared responsibility, faculty, staff, and students work together to foster an environment where every individual is welcomed, supported, challenged to grow, and inspired to contribute their unique talents.

Our programs prepare graduates who lead with competence, compassion, and integrity while serving individuals, organizations, and communities with empathy and respect. By promoting Ignatian Belonging, we affirm the inherent dignity of every person and seek to build a college community in which all members can learn, flourish, and make a positive difference in the world.
