Week of Research

Week of Research

Xavier University is proud to present our annual Week of Research! This week will combine several events on campus to showcase the innovative research from our undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. By promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and discourse, these events are avenues for addressing ever-changing complexities in our society and world.

Graduate Research Symposium

The College of Professional Sciences Graduate Research Symposium recognizes graduate students’ scholarly endeavors in Education, Leadership Studies, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and Sport Science and Management. The symposium showcases the research designed and conducted by graduate students as part of their master’s or doctoral degree programs.

Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

The Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity showcases undergraduate scholarship at Xavier University. Any undergraduate that has completed a scholarly project in their field is invited to submit an abstract and then present an oral or poster presentation during the symposium.

Flame: The First Year Seminar Celebration of Student Learning

Flame offers a chance to celebrate the learning First-Year Seminar students have done over the course of the semester by giving them a chance to show off their research to their peers, professors, and other members of the Xavier community.  It’s a bit like a science fair or poster session at an academic conference, with students sharing the fruits of their research via posters, websites, artwork, and other formats at individual tables.
