Upcoming Elections and Registration

Take It On encourages all members of the Xavier community to get involved with upcoming elections. In 2022, the election cycle, the general Election will take place on November 8.  In Cincinnati, this election cycle includes elections for Ohio Governor and other statewide offices, Ohio Supreme Court, the US Senate, US House, Ohio House, Ohio Senate, and state referenda on bail reform and election rules. 

General Election: November 8, 2022

  • The Fall 2022 Academic Calendar includes an Election Day Holiday. No classes, except clinicals, practicums, student teaching, internships, and once-a-week labs may still meet. Please check your class syllabus.  Offices are open.  See here for ideas for the classroom.
  • Register in Ohio or update your Ohio address through the Ohio Secretary of State's website. The deadline to register is October 11, 2022.
  • If you have already registered and have not moved locations (residence hall, apartment, or house), you do not have to re-register.
  • Make a Plan to Vote and find information about how to register (in Ohio and other states) at https://xavier.motivote.us
  • Early voting begins on October 12, 2022.  You can vote early at the Hamilton County Board of Elections, which is located just over a mile from Xavier’s campus at 4700 Smith Road.  Visit the Hamilton County Board of Elections early voting calendar for information about hours of availability for early voting.  
  • General Election Day is November 8, 2022. Polls open 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

  • Decide whether to vote early by mail or in-person. Your mail-in and early vote counts.

  • Find out what ID to bring and more about the voting process.
  • Look up your polling location if you vote on Election Day.
