Laura Clarke
Assistant Professor of Instruction, Program Director for Special Education
Dr. Laura Clarke serves as Program Director for Special Education and Assistant Professor of Instruction at Xavier University. She brings more than 20 years of experience across K–12 schools, higher education, and district leadership. Dr. Clarke's teaching and scholarship focus on evidence-based practices for students with disabilities, including explicit instruction, High-Leverage Practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), inclusive education, MTSS and positive behavior support, IEP development, transition planning, and the effective integration of assistive and educational technology.
Dr. Clarke has co-authored articles for Teaching Exceptional Children, Preventing School Failure and Learning Disabilities: A Multidisciplinary Journal. She has presented at state and national conferences including the Council for Exceptional Children, KY Exceptional Children's Conference, KY-CCBD Behavior Institute, OCALI, and AAC in the Cloud.
