Secondary Education

The Secondary Education Program offers degree programs approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and licensure programs approved by the Ohio Department of Education.

All programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

At the undergraduate level, Secondary Education Programs offer a professional education minor that leads to a teaching license. Students also complete a licensure content area major and are awarded either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. Graduate students can apply for the X-ALT program which leads to initial licensure for career changing professionals.

At the graduate level, the Department offers a 30 credit hour Master of Education degree in Secondary Education. Licensure concentrations will require additional course work and can be planned as part of the degree program.
