Student Health Services

The Office of Student Health Services, operated by TriHealth, will be open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Extended hours will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning in September. Office visits are by appointment only and can be scheduled by contacting the office at 513-745-3022 option 3. Drop-in appointments are unavailable at this time. Students will answer screening questions while making an appointment to ensure the appropriate visit is scheduled. Telemedicine and video visits may be available as additional options for students. Services include preventative care including physicals, health education, health screens and pre-travel visits along with chronic illness care and medication management. Services available for urgent needs such as infections, injuries, and more complex problems are scheduled with same-day appointments. Health Services currently has on-site diagnostic testing available for those with symptoms of COVID-19 and for those who have in close contact with someone who has tested positive. Daily evaluations will be performed by Health Service’s staff for those students under quarantine or isolation, both on and off campus. Evaluations will be coordinated through either in-person or telehealth visits, depending on the student’s location.

The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community are and will remain a priority. Enhanced protocols are also taking place which include mask requirements, promotion of physical distancing, cleaning processes that meet or exceed guidelines, utilizing hospital-grade disinfectant, exam room cleaning after every patient, registration and waiting room areas cleaned several times per day, nightly deep cleaning with focused cleaning of high-touch areas. Alternative entrances and options for evaluations for students who are symptomatic.

Counseling Services

The positive mental health of Xavier students is a critical component of student success and the priority of Xavier’s Counseling Services and Psychological Services Center. Students will have access to both in-person and remote modalities for clinical mental health therapy. Our clinical mental health professionals are prepared and eager to assist Xavier students in building resilience and positive coping skills in response to traditional collegiate mental health needs and the specific challenges associated with the current COVID-19 context.

Disability Services

Disability Services will continue to support students’ access to reasonable accommodations that promote learning experiences that respond to student’s individual needs. Disability Services staff will meet with students virtually or in person by appointment to develop accommodation plans and coordinate accessible services.

Xavier University Health Services are provided by TriHealth professionals including Board Certified physicians and nurse practitioners experienced in collegiate health.  TriHealth is among the best health-care providers in our region and will provide top-quality care and resources. Dean of Students

The Dean of Students office will continue to offer support and resources to all Xavier students to promote individual success, integrity and wellbeing and a safe and inclusive community. Our Care Management and Student Integrity services and team members will be available to students in person, following all wellbeing promotion practices such as wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet of social distance for all meetings. Students will have the option to engage with Dean of Students staff members remotely as well. Xavier’s student food pantry, The Store will continue to be available to support students needing in need of free non-perishable food, personal and household items.
