Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Day's Pharmacy?Day's Pharmacy is an independently owned, community-based pharmacy with two locations in greater Cincinnati. They are focused on providing premiere patient care with transparent, affordable prices for medications.
Is this associated with TriHealth or XU?
This program idea was generated by a student project, built in collaboration with XU’s Office of Student Affairs and TriHealth’s on-campus clinic team and is being run by the Day’s Pharmacy team.
How will I get my prescriptions?
A Day's Pharmacy employee will deliver prescriptions to you at your residence hall at a mutually agreed upon time.
How will I pay for my prescriptions?
Prior to delivery being scheduled, the Day’s Pharmacy team will coordinate payment. All major credit cards including HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Case-by-case scenarios for alternative payment mechanisms will be considered.
When will my prescriptions be delivered?
Generally, the day after the prescription is written. The Day’s Pharmacy team will connect with you directly (call or text) after receiving the prescription to coordinate payment and delivery.
Do I need insurance?
Nope! Day’s Pharmacy is a direct-pay pharmacy, we’re focused on our patients, not insurance companies. If your provider requests an expensive medication that would require insurance coverage to be affordable, we’ll work with you and another area pharmacy to use your insurance. Thankfully, a huge majority of prescriptions medications are inexpensive (<$20) allowing the Day’s Pharmacy team to cut out the insurance middlemen.
Are there limits on what types of medications I can get?
We may restrict delivery of refrigerated products and controlled substances.
I'm not from around here, what happens to my prescription when I go back home?
It is easy to move a prescription with refills remaining from one pharmacy to another; simply have your pharmacy back home call us (513-771-7350) and request a transfer. Trust us, they’ll know how!
I'm not from around here and have other prescriptions from a pharmacy near my house, can you help me with those?
Absolutely! It is easy to move a prescription with refills remaining from one pharmacy to another; just let us know what pharmacy they are at and we’ll call and request a transfer. In the rare case that doesn’t work, we’ll work with your providers to continue your medication therapy.
Can my friend/roommate receive and sign for my prescriptions?
Maybe. If you are too sick to come to the lobby or we can’t coordinate a delivery time without making you skip class, we’ll discuss having someone you trust receive your prescriptions. These decisions need to be made while we are coordinating delivery so our driver knows for sure who they are planning to meet.
Who is eligible?
All Xavier students are eligible for prescription delivery services from Day's Pharmacy.
Is my prescription delivery private and confidential?
Yes. All prescriptions are handled in compliance with privacy and HIPAA standards to protect confidentiality.
Does this service cost extra?
No, delivery to campus is free! Medication costs vary but most are inexpensive (<$20).
