Program Belongingness & Inclusion Subcommittee

  • Faculty Member:
    • Dr. Jen Gibson
      • Dr. Gibson has been a faculty member in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program since 2011. She emphasizes the committee's powerful impact on the SoP, which includes developing and implementing a climate survey, effectively advocating for changes in policy, and effectively advocating for diverse hiring and representation.

    • Maanasa Nandula
      • Maanasa is a 3rd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. Her favorite aspect of being in the PSY-DAC is having the opportunity to share her experiences with incoming students and collaborating with and learning from students from other cohorts in the program.
    • Victoria White
      • Victoria is a 2nd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. Her favorite aspect of being in the PSY-DAC has been collaborating with her peers to foster a climate where othersfeel safety and belonging.
    • Khalid Yusuf
      • Khalid is a 2nd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. He has enjoyed the tight-knit community he has become a part of and the collaborative environment of the PSY-DAC.
    • Pooja Heragu
      • Pooja is a 2nd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. She most enjoys working in a group to analyze and compile results from the PSY-DAC's climate survey.
    • Hannah Geiger
      • Hannah is a 3rd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. Her favorite moment from the PSY-DAC was our most recent Friendsgiving where we got to share some delicious food, including Dr. Gibson's fry bread!

    •  Libby Wertz
      • Libby is the Co-Chair of this subcommittee and a 4th-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. Her passion for fostering DEIB at Xavier inspired her to join the PSY-DAC, and she is inspired by how dedicated everyone is to this mission as well!
    • Connor Hamilton
      • Connor is a 3rd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. He has greatly enjoyed facilitating the difficult dialogues workshops that this subcommittee has hosted.
    • Hailey Dustin
      • Hailey is a 2nd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. She appreciates the difficult dialouges workshop because it gives people the skills to facilitate challenging conversations about important topics.
    • Nimanthi Ranatunga
      • Nimanthi is a 2nd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. She joined the PSY-DAC to have the chance to get more involved in the community and to feel more comfortable and confident when having important but challenging conversations.
    • Audrey Peterman
      • Audrey is a 1st-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. She joined the PSY-DAC to help ensure that everyone has the same wonderful experience on campus that she did as an undergraduate student of Xavier as well!

Advocacy & Community Outreach Subcommittee

  • Student Members:
    •  Erica Lampert 
      • Erica is the Co-Chair of this subcommittee and a 4th-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. Her favorite moment from the PSY-DAC has been the volunteering efforts done in collaboration with St. Joseph's Home and the 5K event. She had the opportunity to work together with the community and enjoyed raising funds for the families of loved ones with complex disabilities!
    • Josh Welch
      • Josh is a 4th-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. He has served as a member of this subcommittee for the past three years because he wanted to contribute to the PSY-DAC's mission of ensuring that diversity and equity are prioritized in the SoP and that the climate of the graduate program fosters inclusion and a sense of belonging.
    • Kristen Smalling
      • Kristen is a 1st-year student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. She joined the PSY-DAC so that she could contribute to keeping the Psy.D. program as a place where students can feel safe and accepted for who they are.
