Pianist Michael Chertock has performed as a concerto soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Montreal and Toronto Symphonies, as well as the Dallas Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, and the State Symphony Orchestra of Moscow. He has recorded solo albums of film music for the Telarc label and appears on more than 40 different recordings on multiple labels, including piano concertos with orchestras in Denmark, Bulgaria, the U.K., and Ireland. He has performed with the Boston Pops as soloist at least 50 times. 

 

Mr. Chertock is the conductor of the Blue Ash-Montgomery Symphony, located in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, and he frequently composes and arranges music for the orchestra's concerts. He has also conducted the Cincinnati Symphony, the Columbus Symphony, the State Symphony Orchestra of Moscow, and the Moscow Conservatory Orchestra. Formerly a faculty member at Miami University of Ohio, Mr. Chertock is the chair of the piano department at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. He is honored to serve on the faculty of the Brevard Music Center each summer. 

 

Mr. Chertock lives in Mason, Ohio, with his wife Maaike and their children and cats.
