Chip DeLorenzo

Middle School Teacher/Teaching Professor

Chip is a Teaching Professor for the XU Montessori program.  He has been a Montessori educator since 1995, and holds AMS Certifications in Early Childhood and Elementary I and II.  He also has extensive experience working Montessori adolescent students.  Chip spent 20 years at the Damariscotta Montessori School in Maine, where he was the Head of School.  Chip is the co-author, with Jane Nelsen, of Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom.  As a teacher trainer and school consultant, Chip has worked with Montessori teachers and parents all over the world, teaching the principles and practices of Positive Discipline through various workshops and lectures.  He holds a B.S. from Hampton University, and an M.Ed. from Endicott College. Chip is the father of five Montessori children, and he and his wife, Kathy, live in Loveland, Ohio.

 

Hobbies and interests:  Downhill skiing, running, history, NY Yankees, road trips with my family.

 

Favorite part of Montessori: That children don’t want to go home at the end of the day.
