Manresa for New Faculty and Staff
"Manresa" provides an overview of Xavier's mission and identity for new faculty and staff. During the program you will get a glimpse into the life of St. Ignatius Loyola and an overview of Jesuit education. You will hear from veteran faculty and staff about how they incorporate Ignatian principles into their work, followed by stimulating discussions with new colleagues. Manresa is offered in two format options: an on campus lunch series and an overnight retreat experience.

OPTION ONE: LUNCH AND LEARN SERIES (on campus)
The Manresa Lunch Series is offered over a series of three lunches seminars. In Fall 2026, this event will be on Thursdays, 8/27, 9/3, and 9/10 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Arrupe Lounge in the Gallagher Student Center.
Participants are invited to bring their own lunch.This option is open to all new full-time and part-time faculty, staff, and administrators with continuing employment at Xavier hired since August 12, 2025 and newly hired adjunct faculty hired for the 2026-2027 academic year.

OPTION TWO: MANRESA OVERNIGHT
Manresa Overnight for New Faculty and Staff is September 18-19, 2026 at Transfiguration Spirituality Center in Glendale (about 25 minutes from campus). Participants arrive on Friday between 3:15-3:45 p.m. The program ends on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
This option is open to all full-time faculty, staff, and administrators with continuing employment at Xavier hired since August 12, 2025. Full-time new faculty often favor it because they may not be free to attend the luncheons of "Option One" due to their teaching schedule.
