  • Why is the University launching this program at this time?

    The goal of this process is to place the University in a competitive position to attract and retain talent in the marketplace. Additionally, this process modernizes and makes transparent the classification/compensation structure for all exempt and non-exempt staff employees.
  • Is this process related to recent budget concerns?

    No, this process was requested from a climate study in 2005 and based upon feedback received by the Office of Human Resources. This is an organizational best practice to have compensation philosophy, structures, and guidelines.
  • How will merit pay be determined and how often?

    Merit pay is evaluated each year through the University Planning and Resourcing Council along with Xavier?s financial health. Compensation guidance is provided to the community by the Office of Human Resources for distribution of merit dollars.
