Graduate assistantships are a great way to help finance your graduate experience at Xavier University. Graduate assistantship (GA) positions are available in various offices and departments on campus. The main posting date for graduate assistantship positions is March 1st

Eligibility Requirements and Restrictions 

Applicants must be accepted into a degree-seeking or licensure-seeking program at Xavier University to be considered for a graduate assistantship. Students admitted provisionally or in the application process are not eligible for graduate assistantships.

Graduate assistants must be registered for a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester to be eligible for tuition remission and may not receive tuition remission from other sources such as, but not limited to, the Veterans Benefits Administration, employers, or scholarships. Xavier employees and their dependents are not eligible to apply. Tuition remission may only be applied to the graduate assistant’s Bursar’s account for tuition accrued during the semester(s) worked. Appointment as a graduate assistant may affect other financial aid eligibility.

A student may receive more than one graduate assistantship but contract hours may not exceed a total of 20 hours per week.
