Comprised of the same rigorous courses as our Doctorate in Leadership Studies, this 21-hour program provides an immediate professional upgrade. When you’re ready to take the next step, your completed credits move with you, providing a direct pathway into the Ed.D. program.
Admission

To be considered for admission to the Leadership Studies program, you must submit the following materials:

  • Completed application.
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work from accredited colleges and universities
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and write cogently using the English language. Non-native English-speaking applicants must submit TOFEL scores.
  • Resume/Vita documenting work and volunteer experience.
  • A personal essay (minimum 1,000 words) reflecting how the program would help them reach their short- and long-term professional goals.
  • Three letters of recommendation from professional or academic references. It is recommended that one reference be familiar with and able to comment on quantitative skills, abilities, or aptitude.

You are considered for admission into the program once all application materials have been received. 

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must have an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s degree, J.D., or Ph.D.) with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 from an accredited institution
  • Applicants whose prior study was outside the United States must have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree.

This 21-credit-hour program is comprised of the same high-level leadership core courses found in the Leaderhip Studies Ed.D. curriculum.

Master the architecture of social and behavioral research. You will learn to critique existing literature through multiple lenses and design high-level research frameworks that bridge theory and practice.
 Navigate the evolution of leadership from classical theories to emergent perspectives. This course challenges "leader-centric" myths, teaching you to synthesize diverse frameworks to address the multifaceted nature of modern organizations.
Master the tools required to decode organizational culture and drive systemic change. You will explore social-cognitive and political perspectives to understand how leaders influence—and are influenced by—the cultures they lead.
