Cybersecurity Team
The Xavier Cybersecurity Team is a group of students who are interested in cybersecurity, a high priority in the world today. One goal of this team is to learn the new technologies and problem-solving required in today’s computing careers. You will also develop/improve collaborative and analytical skills by working with the team on competitions. This is a fun way to learn and collaborate!
The Cybersecurity Team participates in cyber defense competitions including:
- Capture the Flag (CTF) events: Solve problems related to current information security threats.
- Penetration Testing: Use “red” and “blue” team “attacker-defender” scenarios to attack systems. Learn offensive and defensive skills.
Most cyber defense competitions have valuable nationally recognizable certificates. For example, we will compete in the NCL (National Cyber League) competition. There are many other CTF competitions during the semester that we may also participate in.
