Application Process
The Inside-Out Prison Exchange course (CJUS 335 (men's prisons) and CJUS 336 (women's prison)) will count as an elective in criminal justice and many other majors. Inside-Out also fulfills the Solidarity and Kinship requirement at XU. If you are not a criminal justice major, please check with your departmental advisor to determine whether this course counts as an elective. Students are permitted to take both CJUS 335 (men's prison) and CJUS 336 (women's prison) as a student. NOTE: Xavier students of any gender identity can take either course.
To be considered for the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program:
- Complete and submit the application. The applications are currently available.
- Applicants who get through the first round of screening will be required to attend a 15-minute screening interview.

Applications must be submitted by October 15, 2025 by 5:00 pm EST. Note: Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be selected for the course; Any student can apply to either course.
Late applications will not be considered.
